I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. I relocated to the US in 1983, where I completed my high school education, and I have been a licensed RN since 1990. I am fluent in English and Thai, and I have a basic knowledge of Spanish, which I am working to improve. My goal is to enhance my critical skills and knowledge by joining a challenging and supportive online program, excelling in it, and becoming a highly effective and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner.

From a young age, I aspired to be a nurse and have never regretted this decision, seeing it more as a calling than just a career choice. I have enjoyed a diverse and fulfilling nursing career spanning over 20 years, working in various settings and taking on extensive responsibilities. I am capable of independently treating patients in most situations and currently advocate for patients to receive appropriate care within the healthcare system. I have also been involved in training staff.

I aim to make a positive impact on people's lives by leveraging my extensive nursing experience while enjoying a satisfying and rewarding career that offers significant variety and autonomy. I am convinced that the FNP role will fulfill my needs. I am eager to work directly with a wide range of patients and conditions, with a particular interest in preventative medicine. I hope to contribute to research on breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment, especially for underserved populations.

I am also interested in addressing the challenges of providing appropriate and effective healthcare to an aging population. I am an excellent communicator and have learned the importance of non-verbal cues in patient communication over my many years in nursing. I have always taken an integrated approach to patient care, considering family situations and dynamics. Although I have not been formally engaged in academics for some time, I look forward to the academic challenges the program will offer. I am confident that my current work schedule is flexible enough to allow me to dedicate the necessary time to excel in my studies.

I understand that cultural sensitivity is crucial in the role I aim to fulfill. I have studied, worked, and socialized with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and have thoroughly enjoyed these experiences. Once qualified, I am eager to practice within the underserved community. I also hope to volunteer regularly in a developing country, treating patients and sharing my skills and knowledge with local healthcare providers.

I am aware that I am applying to a highly prestigious program with many well-qualified applicants. However, I genuinely believe I am an excellent candidate.

I am confident that I possess the maturity, background, dedication, knowledge, skills, and personal traits necessary to excel in the program and become a highly effective Family Nurse Practitioner.
